Vote now for these great progressive groups in November
Each month, CREDO members help decide how we donate tens of thousands of dollars to three great nonprofit groups fighting for our progressive values. This month, you can help fund organizations fighting for human rights, climate justice and economic equality by voting for Amnesty International USA, Earthjustice and the Economic Policy Institute. Learn more about each of these causes, and then cast your vote for one, two or all three by November 30.
Amnesty International USA
Amnesty International is a global grassroots movement and one of the world’s foremost defenders of human rights. With millions of activists worldwide, the organization works tirelessly toward fair treatment for people everywhere.
In addition to helping its ongoing work to ensure the fair treatment and release of prisoners of conscience around the world, funding from CREDO members will help Amnesty International USA fight for the rights of human rights defenders in the United States, ensuring that the right to peaceful protest is protected as well as on the rights of immigrants and refugees, particularly children and families held in detention centers indefinitely as they seek asylum in the United States.
Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit environmental law organization dedicated to preserving our natural heritage, protecting our health, combating climate change and promoting an equitable clean energy future.
In the face of some of the greatest environmental challenges in our nation’s history, funding from CREDO would help Earthjustice build its bench of world-class attorneys to rise to the challenges we confront with an administration and Congress that are deeply hostile to environmental protections. It will also enable the organization to serve as the “tip of the spear,” defending against environmental attacks in the courts, where Earthjustice has a long track record of success.
Economic Policy Institute
The Economic Policy Institute works for an America where every working person has access to a good job with fair pay, affordable health care, retirement security and work-life balance.
This year, EPI’s work has focused on encouraging public investments in infrastructure, strengthening our collective bargaining rights, providing earned sick leave and paid family leave and subsidized child care, ending discriminatory practices that contribute to race and gender inequalities, and providing undocumented workers a path to citizenship. Funding from CREDO members will help EPI invest in much-needed technology upgrades to translate its research into interactive content and videos so that users can more easily access its work online.
Your vote this November will determine how we divide the $150,000 in donations among these three progressive causes. Be sure to cast your vote to support one, two or all three by November 30.
