Traveling Internationally? Get your CREDO Mobile phone ready now.
Summer is here, and you may be planning to travel outside the United States. If you’re taking your CREDO Mobile phone with you, here’s what you need to know and, most importantly, what you need to do first.
First, your phone must be enabled for international use. Please call our customer service team at 800-411-0848 at least 10 business days before your trip so we can enable your phone for either international voice and text or for use with an international carrier’s SIM card. Provisioning your phone for international travel is usually a very easy process, but calling in advance ensures time for any unexpected issues. Best of all, once you’ve set this up for your device, there is no need to do it again.
If you enable international calling and texting on your CREDO Mobile phone, know that international text and voice service is not already included in your regular monthly service plan. Be sure to review our list of service availability and rates by phone and country to confirm the rates where you’re traveling. If you’re interested in having access to data as well as voice and text, consider purchasing a SIM when you arrive.
Purchasing a SIM card from an international carrier? It’s usually easier and cheaper to purchase a SIM card once you get to your destination, so you can be sure you have the right carrier and coverage. With a local SIM card, you typically purchase voice, text and data options, and any fees for services are paid to the local carrier, not CREDO.
Where can you purchase a SIM card when you’re traveling? Most countries have major carrier retail stores, like Vodafone, Orange or O2 in Europe, for example. The retail store will likely remove your current CREDO Mobile SIM card and replace it with the international SIM card. But please remember to hold on to your CREDO Mobile SIM card. You’ll need it to switch back to your CREDO Mobile service when you return to the United States.
