Get Ready for the New Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Samsung just announced the long-awaited details of their new twin 2016 flagship devices, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. If you loved your previous Galaxy, you’ll quickly fall for these new devices as they build upon what’s already great about the line.

The S7 and S7 edge are physically very similar to their S6 versions. The S7 is 5.1” and the edge, 5.5”. Both have Quad HD Super AMOLED displays, which means they have broad color gamuts with great contrast. Every type of content will shine on these displays. Each features a faster processor as well as improved cameras with faster focusing and better low-light performance.

The edge keeps its distinctive curved screen while the S7 retains its flat profile. Both feature welcome expandable memory (up to an additional 200GB) via MicroSD. If you were hoping for the return of a removable battery, the constraints of the finely honed designs have prevented that, but Samsung is instead offering a larger longer-lived built-in battery as well as much faster wireless charging. Unfortunately, the wireless charging pads are sold separately.

And for those of you who tend to drop their iconic smartphones in bodies of water, like I do, Samsung has brought back IP68-certified water resistance. So stop worrying about putting your phone into your cup of soda because you thought the cupholder in the arm of your movie theater seat was empty. It’ll survive.

Be on the lookout for the new S7 and S7 edge at CREDO Mobile soon.
